WorkLab is an editorial platform releasing weekly articles on the impact of AI in the workplace. Since its inception, WorkLab has published 80+ articles, 40+ podcast episodes, and numerous annual reports detailing the shifting trends of the modern workplace.
I joined the GDP WorkLab team and worked on a variety of projects, from designing interactive web reports to creating custom editorial illustrations that depicted AI in new and refreshing ways.
WorkLab PodcastI designed a series of thumbnails for Season 7 and 8 of the WorkLab Podcast. Each season’s visuals needed a refresh yet still live within the familiar WorkLab ecosystem. We played with bright colors, rounded shapes, and dynamic gradients to help the guest portraits stand out.In the final episode of season 8, the WorkLab Podcast was testing a pilot episode where they included a video of their podcast. Our team helped envision how the audio-only podcast series can transition into a new, more engaging medium.
WorkLab ReportsThe Work Trend Index is an annual report that summarizes the most relevant findings from the Microsoft research team and connects these findings with future trends, such as adopting AI agents or how work hours are gradually getting longer and longer.
We collaborated with our editorial team to design custom page layouts, worked with illustrators to craft iconic hero illustrations, re-skinned data charts submitted by Microsoft’s data scientists, and worked with animators to add motion to the report graphics.
Agents of Change
Agents of Change is an interactive site that highlights a list of 39 Microsoft customers who have utilized AI agents in creative and impactful ways. This site helps promote Microsoft’s AI agent capabilities to new organizations and strengthens the existing relationships between Microsoft their AI-forward clients. The site’s layout, filtering feature, and spot illustrations help make the list digestable so that users can easily search for a company in a specific field or see how agents are used in specific ways, such as impacting employee productivity or creating innovative breakthroughs.

WorkLab Newsletter:
Design and IllustrationsFor the Worklab Newsletter, I designed both custom illustrations as well as art treatment styles for newsletter series.
Creating custom illustrations was a challenging process, from finding metaphors for abstract AI concepts to creating multiple sketches to finally nail a piece’s composition.
For defining art treatment styles, our goal was to define visual rules that stretched the existing WorkLab brand and resulted in a family of illustrations that still feel unique from each other.
I designed a style for the AI Data Drop newsletter series as well as the AI at Work LinkedIn newsletter.
